Do students who go to Arts + Science get any AP credit? Because when I was looking at the Vanderbilt site it says that AP doesn't satisfy AXLE requirements...

You won’t get credit for AXLE requirements with APs, but you can get “free” credit to apply toward degree requirements. You can find information here: [AP/IB Credit | College of Arts and Science | Vanderbilt University](http://as.vanderbilt.edu/registrar/academicpolicies/apibcredit/).

So I have to retake BC calc again… darn it thx

Why do you have to retake it? Are you in a program that requires that level calc? If so, I am guessing you need to retake it because you did not get a 4 or 5. In that case, don’t look at having to take the class at the college level as “retaking.” I would bet that you will find you are not bored! ;)

i must be misunderstanding, since I’m an incoming freshman in the college of arts + science, to fulfill the axle requirements don’t I have to do bc calc again? i got a 5 on the bc calc exam.

AXLE doesn’t specifically require that you take calculus. It requires three courses that are categorized as “Mathematics and Natural Sciences,” and there are many options, from Oceanography to Anthropology (see [AXLE | College of Arts and Science | Vanderbilt University](http://as.vanderbilt.edu/academics/axle/distribution_courses.php) for a full list of courses). Your math credit for BC Calc will NOT count towards this requirement.

Now, if your major requires you to take calc (as many do), you won’t have to take it, as it will be fulfilled by your BC calc credit.

thanks for the help
