AP Credit for Grade vs Credit

I'm a little confused about the AP credit policy.

<a href="http://www.utexas.edu/academic/mec/cbe/cutape.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.utexas.edu/academic/mec/cbe/cutape.html</a></p>

It will list the AP score and credit awarded and after some it will say CR and others it will not. It says at the bottom that CR means credit only. I'm not sure but I'm guessing this means you do not get a grade for that class, just a credit.

When I look at the majors for the b-school it says at the top "ALL CLASSES MUS T BE TAKEN FOR A GRADE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED". Does this mean those CR only classes can not be used toward the major requirements?

You can only receive course credit for AP and CLEP tests. UT stopped awarding grades for AP and CLEP tests in September 2006.

When the b-school requires that "All classes must be taken for a grade unless otherwise noted", it means that you may not take classes at UT on a pass/fail basis. Credits received for AP and CLEP tests will still count.

Thanks I thought that would never get answered!!

One last thing, do you know if you claim credit for an AP class but hten decide you want to take it, if that will be a problem?

Once you claim AP credit for a course, you can take the course but you will not get credit for it. If you are in doubt, don't claim credit for it. You can claim AP/CLEP credit as late as your last semester.
