<p>Is there a limit on how many units you can get via AP credit to use for your GE requirements? I talked to a counselor and he said that you can only use 11 units (this is at a Quarter-based community college), what has your experience been? </p>
<p>11 sounds a little off to me so I thought I'd ask you all. </p>
<p>I plan on transferring to a UC.</p>
<p>I passed only 1 test (AP US with a 5) and received credit for it. Logically I would say no because that would make someone who is already proficient in a subject have to take the course all over again. Considering the amount of money some students pay for JC classes (with no financial aid) I would say it would be down right criminal to limit students with AP credit. Just my two cents.</p>

I passed 5/6 of my exams and was granted 15 semester units. I didn’t hear that there was a limit for my school, however.

<p>11 units? lol! that’s TWO AP classes.</p>
<p>1 AP pass = 5.2 units (i think, or 5.3)</p>

<p>Try searching for “IGETC AP credit” at your community college’s web site to see which AP tests and scores fulfill which IGETC categories. <p>If you intend to fulfill breadth requirements specific to the school and major you intend to transfer to (instead of IGETC, or if IGETC is not accepted for your major at your transfer target school), you need to check the school and major that you intend to transfer to in order to see whether AP credit may be used for breadth requirements.</p>

<p>As far as I know, there is no limit on the amount of credits from APs you can get</p>
