I know it must be stupid question that has been asked for a trillion times....
but because "AP credit" exists in a lot of post, and I can't find a legit answer for it,
I still have to ask....

If some APs are not listed in the guide book of the college (e.g CoC), does it mean it's uesless?

If a AP is given certain units (1.3, 2.7, etc), but it says "does not fullfil and UC Berkeley courses or requirement", does it mean it's also useless? And the Units you get will not count toward you 120 units to graduate? Then why do they even give out the credits then!

Not exactly - there are university-wide approvals, so you’ll get your units, but you aren’t exempted from anything (i.e. 5 in AP Chem gives you some 5.3 units, but you can’t get out of Chem 4A in CoC)

Related to 1. Units count to your 120 total, but can’t be used to substitute requirements.

Unfortunately, there is no campus-wide AP list beyond the units of credit, except for those which fulfill campus-wide requirements (AH&I, ELWR).

You will have to check with your college and major, and the department of the AP credit (e.g. Math department for what to do if you have AP Calculus credit), to see if they can be used for anything other than just the units.

If I’m in eecs and I my ap scores from the last 2 years are calc bc-5 euro-3 us history english -5 comp sci a-4 is it necessary for me to take any ap tests this year or have already maxed out my credit in this department?
