AP Economics or AP Stats?

I'm stuck between these two. Which is generally easier? I may self-study the one I don't take as a class.

Uh...I don't know about easier but if you want practicality, go for Econ. From what I understand, Stats is just some sort of extension of math, and if you have AP Calc you really don't need more math.

I'd take Ec and self study Stat.

I took Ap Stat last year, along with Cal Ab just cause I like math. It was really easy for me, way easier then Cal Ab! I'm taking Economics this year and school has not started for me so I cant speak on that subject. My older sister took Ap Econ last year and said it was fairly easy..

I would suggest self-stuyding Ap Stat. Some of my friends did that last year and made 4s and 5s on the Ap Exam. Stat class for me was really a joke, espically if your taking or have taken Cal!

thanks for the advice. I'll take Economics. I have an appointment with my guidance counselor tomorrow so I have to get things finalized. Another question, which science should I hold off till senior year? AP Environmental or Physics Honors?

If I take AP Envi. I'll have 4 AP classes (History, Eco, Lang). Physics isn't a problem but a lot of the people who I rather not have class with will be there. AP Envi. isn't that difficult, correct?

Physics is a real science. Environmental isn't. Colleges view them this way.

Does econ count for math credit at your schools, or only social studies? I would totally take it instead of Stat if I could.

Social studies. I ended up taking eco. To take stats, I would've had to drop a course.

Econ counts as ECON and stat counts as STAT :-)

That said, my school doesn't really give credit for either to anyone in a economics or math-based major. (Econ, Business, Math, Engineering, etc)
