am i killing myself if I do self-studying?

Language or Literature? The two are both easier to self-study than other subjects if you have a strong grasp on English. I suggest you take a few practice tests and see if you're interested first. The exams both require you to identify literary techniques and be able to write in a solid manner. It just depends on how willing you are to review the material and how much time you dedicate to it.

Are there any (free) websites to do this? I'd rather do some practice tests and learn exactly what is on the tests online.

No, you're not going to kill yourself. I had a teacher last year, but we did NOTHING. My English teacher was a coach and didn't really care about teaching English. We just watched Lion King, ordered pizza, did math homework, and studied for U.S. history the whole year. And it turned out that a good percentage of the student still passed the AP exam.

Obstinate: If you don't want to spend money, go to a library and see if they have some AP review books. Also, collegeboard has released FRQs online.

thank you very much.

@hopefullybright: it is the language, not lit :)
