ap english & berk english

according to berkeley's site, if i can somehow pull off a 5 on the ap english lit test, it will satisfy both halves of my R&C requirements...

likewise, a 4 (forget if a 3 works too) will satisfy the first half of the R&C.

now, supposing i miraculously manage a 5 on ap lit, what exactly does this mean with regards to taking english at berkeley?

im in for CoE, if that makes any difference...

If you get a 5, it means you're done with the Reading and Composition requirement and are not required to take any further english courses unless you choose to.

Indeed (unless the CoC requires them).

thanks for the info.

on a different note, if i get a 4, how will that work? (does satisfying the first half of R&C mean that I have one semester of english required?) or is it one year?

An Ap English Lit 4 will get you out of the first half of the writing test and the first half of the R and C requirement. One semester required if you get a four.
