AP English Language and Composition

Does anyone know the statistics for what scores on the multiple choice part of the exam will place you in the 3, 4, and 5 range? Just took a practice exam and i got a 28 out of 54 so im kinda nervous lol

what is the use of taking AP english language if u wanna do engineering. I know students shoulbe well rounded but is it worth taking if I want to go to a school like usc, rice or stanford to do engineering. I'm not familiar with the US aystem

^At some schools, it will count towards a core credit, or some engineering majors (like myself) may want to double major, or pick up a minor.

CrazyGlue, from what I've been told, if you get 70-75% right, good essays will get you a five. I think the lower limit is 50% or so for a 3, but it all depends on your free response. Higher free response means a more forgiving MC scale.

hmm...is there anything I can do in the few days I have left to maybe bring my score up a little? Ive been going through a Princeton Review book for the last couple of weeks, but im almost done with it.

I think that you could get a 4 or 5 with that MC score if you do really well on the Essay section.

My advice would be to read some college-level material & try to get the gist behind it.. I'm taking the AP too! Good luck! :)

Dont you hate it when you think you've written really great essays from practice tests in cliffs and then you check them with the model essay and it's like far superior than the one you've written.?
Yeah that happend to me 4 times today. I wrote 4 essays which I thought were all brilliant.. I thought they were all 7-8 material. And when I compared it... it ended up getting 5-6s. :(

You want to get in the 30s. Doesn't your teacher go over it with you? Ours does. For me, I just got a 45/54 on the MC, and with that I would get a 5 with all 6s on the essays.
If you tend to get low MC scores but 8s on the essays, you'll probably pull a 5. I'm not sure though.

You have to be strong in either essays or MC, and then you can slide a bit in the other.
