AP English Language Exam Thread

Did we have to do these in order?
I took a really long time for the first and then, to avoid reading, skipped to the third, then came back and did the second in like 20 minutes.

Guys how bad it is that if I didn’t finish one of the essays and I only scored like 35 on the Multiple choice and left like 15-18 blank?..

No idea how I did on the essays. I always think all my timed essays suck horrible, but the grade usually turns out okay…

MC was sooo easy.

Really?..I had a bit of trouble answering the second passage because it was running outta time lol. I did okay on the first and third passage

@Aphex1…yeah definitley toward the topic…i thought it would be more effective…instead of giving a bunch of examples focus it on two and agree with the prompt

I belittled them effectively I felt. I quoted and used some of their own arguments by pointing out the contradictions they showed and giving logical explanations as to why these authors represented a common misconception.

Well, having read sample essays, often times poorly written essays end up with reasonably high scores (6 or so) just because scorers understand you were under time pressure.

So as long as you took a position and had REASONABLE organization…you should do decently on Section II.

I’m scared how easy it was. It seems like there will be no curve, because the MC was really straightforward and the essays were pretty easy to organize, at least for me.

Well considering we honestly had a study hall period in my english class all year, did one of each essay and one practice free response all year, I thought it was okay.

Our essays or practice wasn’t graded so nobody in my class knew what to do, but I feel like I got a 4.

Think i got high 3, low 4

There always is a excerpt/essay about women and/or African Americans…I suppose college board doesn’t want to be seen as racist or sexist…

Be careful zapadniyrus. Edit that comment if you can.

In my English class, we took two practice tests.
On the first test, I got a mid-3. On the second test, I got a high-3.
One problem I had was that I didn’t leave any blank.
On the actual test, I left twelve blank, so maybe that helped a little?
I am terrible at English, I’ll be happy if I get a 4.

in the conclusion of my 3rd essay i bashed jay leno. it wasn’t an argument though, just a nice bash.

so it doesnt break the nazi stronghold grip of the collegeboard

WHY DO THEY EVEN MAKE YOU WAIT 48 HOURS? EVERYONE IS DONE WITH THE TEST ANYWAY!

you suck at english… so you took the AP ENGLISH TEST?

are we allowed to post about it? lol
i typed up this thing about frq #2 but i’m hesitant about posting

^ no one can really do anything. I don’t think there’s an embargo either so…whatever you feel is right

I suck at English too! I’ll be happy if i get a 3…And i took it because it was either that or the AP final…

It was surprisingly a lot easier than what I expected, and trust me, I’ve had essays about celery.

Whoever gets my school’s exams to read should expect a good 50-60 essays about A Modest Proposal.

I also just realized I confused anaphora for aphorism. Anyone know how much a penalty that is?

They don’t penalize; they only reward. It just means you won’t be rewarded. But literary terms are always insignificant to the topic as a whole. If you nailed the effect, you’ve gotten your dough.
