^ thank you for confirming

anyone used Candide for the 3rd essay?..Kinda bummed out that I couldn’t go in detail about it…read it in sophomore year for AP Euro, lol

mc was easy

i bombed essay…cannot manage 3 essays for my life…and i dont think i can develop my ideas under time pressure very well because i’m not that great of a writer haha

hope i got a 4 Dx

Good thing I read this thread last night and learned about the the two types of synthesis questions that my teacher didnt talk about. I probably wouldve read right past that and just argued/defend/qualified had i not known.

I thought it was easy, but I always have this feeling that i might have screwed up by filling in the wrong bubble, or that one of my essays might have been slightly off topic. But I still think my synthesis essay might have deviated slightly from the prompt also.

Haha, “A Modest Proposal” was the first thing that jumped to my mind also.

Also, I found the MC to be easier than any practice tests I had taken. I was really confident going through, although I was really tired and had a headache so I spent time reading the passages and was worried I wouldn’t finish. I had time to spare, though.

Tell me if I’m sharing too much. but I used Bill Hicks.

Anyone else challenge the author’s viewpoint in the argument essay?

Do they care like if what you wrote is true? Or are they just looking for strong writing abiity and examples?

Cus I sorta bsed some of my examples (1-2), they sound legit, but if they quickly googled them or something and read about a bit, they would find out its not right.

@Hong + Dark: Did you guys agree or disagree with the statement in #3?

I used Candide.

I used Bill Hicks as well, man was a genius.

I almost used Swift, and figured that if it was the first thing to come to me then it was probably going to come to everyone else, also.

Instead I used Horace Miners essay “Body Rituals Among the Nacirema”, and Sam Kinision :)

I used Dr. Suess for the 3rd one.

:)

for the last essay…please tell me why i started talking about osama bin laden, ww1 propaganda, and some other stuff?? LOL. i took a risk…hope they like it.

I used the Simpsons and Arthur Miller!

I used Doonesbury and Monty Python.
Easily the best AP essay topic I have personally seen.

Sorry if this was discussed earlier, but I’m having trouble figuring out how scoring works, exactly - this year was my first taking APs. If I omitted six questions, probably got a couple wrong, and wrote decent essays, what’s the highest score I could receive?

A 5, you can still miss half the MC and get a 5.

^Well yeah, if reginaphalange wrote 3 perfect essays then it’d definitely be a 5. However, he said he wrote “decent” essays… I guess that’d put him in the high 3 to mid 4.

Did anyone use Vonnegut for the last one?
