Hello everybody!

I'm starting to think about my schedule for senior year, and I'm having a little trouble deciding what I should take next year.

I'd really love to get into Columbia University and I know course selection is one of the many aspects of my transcript that can either make me or break me. I think I'll be going in as an undecided major as I can see myself majoring in either Neuroscience or Psychology sometime in the future.

The first issue is whether I should take AP Environment or AP Biology. I'm taking AP Chem right now and through the first quarter, I've managed to pull off an A+. At my school AP Biology is a basically a joke--it's even dubbed as AP Coloring by many students. I know that I could easily make perfect scores in the class, but the AP test is going to be a nightmare unless I self-study which really isn't that appealing to me. If I take a class, I might as well learn, right? Then there's APES. I know that class is easy as well, but it seems as though I'll actually be prepared for the test by taking the class. The only problem is that taking AP Enviro might not be seen in the best of lights. AP Physics is also offered at my school, but I'm really not interested in taking it.

Then there's the math issue. AP Calc AB seems a little daunting to me. Again, I've garnered an A+ in PreCalc through the first quarter, but, from my understanding, AP Calc AB is really difficult, and I'm not a big fan of math, so I'm not really sure I'm willing to sacrafice my rank (top 1%) for a class that I might really dislike. Then there's AP Stats, which seems to be a walk in the park, but, again, may be looked down up by a top-tier school like Columbia.

Any thoughts?
