AP questions...

I'm a junior starting to think about my schedule for next year. I'm currently in all honors except APUSH and regular precalc. I'm not a big science-math person (struggling a bit in honors physics). I plan to major in archaeology, if that helps.

Bio or APES? I hear APES is a joke and that bio is impossible. Does it look bad to take APES as an easy way out? Or can anybody calm my fears about Bio?

Stats or Calc AB? Stats would fit better into my schedule. I don't really know much about what Stats involves though.

Lang or Lit? Could somebody please clarify the difference? I mean, I know the basic difference but perhaps somebody could tell me what you do in each?

Hello! I may be a bit rusty but here we go:

If you’re not a real science person don’t take AP Biology. AP Biology contains so much information it’ll just bore you. AP Environmental are taken by students who are REALLY interested in Environmental studies. There’s only 12 people in that class in my school. If I were you I would choose APES, if you want to challenge yourself take AP Biology.

To be able to do well in Calculus AB you have to be solid in Trig and in Pre-Calc. People who take this class want to (1) challenge themselves and like math or (2) want to continue. Stats is for someone who is good at reading data, conducting experiments and math. Some people say it’s easy. My Bro is taking AP Stats he says it’s fun. I would take Stats if I were you. But in the end it’s all up to you.

AP English Lit is mainly focused on Literature… like old Literature. You analyze different works and writing styles. Basically if you like to read take it. In AP English Lang you analyze rhetorical devices in nonfiction texts like articles, speeches, and essays. In this class you write timed essays and essays about many different topics. Basically if you like writing pick AP English Lang.

Hope this helped good luck :)
