A “world history” is required to graduate at my high school. I don’t love history, but I do think it is interesting. Taking AP Euro would bring me up to having 8 APs for graduating total, but I know its a hard and work intensive class (along with me taking AP calc and AP chem that year too) and I would really like to keep my 4.0 GPA. I know world history would be super easy (its a freshman class) but if I want to go somewhere like MIT (I’m interested in Engineering) would it be worth it to take that extra AP?

What grade are you in?
I’m taking AP Euro right now, and it’s a lot of work. If you feel like you can handle 3 APs then go for it. Honestly, I’m not sure what MIT is looking for, but if you’re interested in engineering, focus on taking rigorous, STEM-oriented classes (which you are).
^Actually, MIT wants rigorous Stem classes PLUS excellence in all subjects PLUS good grades (and a recommendation from) in AP Humanities/Social sciences PLUS a national-level achievement/award in the sciences, or research, or something equally amazing.
A 3.8-3.9 with 3 APs senior year is better than a 4.0 with 2APs.
