Ap Euro?

So next year is my senior year and I plan on taking both French 3 and 4 because I want to major in french and become a french teacher. I’ve had interest in AP euro for a while and was thinking, would it be good since i wanna major in french even if there isn’t that much french history in it?

bump

@churis I doubt a few days of learning about French history should make too much of a difference. Take the course only if you’re interested in European history out of other AP history classes.

bump. please put input

It really doesn’t affect you one way or the other. Just take french if you like french. Take history if you like history. You’ll take classes in french culture and history anyway when you get to college if you major in french so the class wouldn’t hurt. It just won’t affect you greatly for the better either.

European History will provide you with a useful background, especially at the beginning of the class the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, and Napoleon. Some events discussed, like the Industrial Revolution, WW1, WW2, apply to French history and will provide a good background for when you take the specialized class.
Most importantly, if you want to become a major, try to “accelerate” and get to AP French.
