mc was easy-ish for me. i had form O. i had the harder DBQ and two lovely LEQs that were basically the same

@writerzt71 Because of your form, please tell me you’re not being sarcastic about the LEQ… I loved the topic I got!

@speller95 i was being sarcastic haha, maybe form O had the same MC but different LEQs?

Must be…

Here’s a bit of salvation for all those who are in my position and had the tougher DBQ. I’ve been doing some research about how college board makes sure people with different forms did not get affected that much. They do this by a system of statistical equating. In a simpler form, if the average for test A was a 3.2 (with the easier DBQ), and test B had an average of 2.7 (with the hard DBQ); college board finds a way to even out the scores. It’s not as simple at raising all test B’s by .5 or averaging the two, but CB does have a plan to create fairness among forms. My only concern is that, with an easier DBQ I may have gotten a 5-6/7 and with the harder one a 3-4(maybe a 2 :p)/7. The curve for the harder DBQ may not be as generous to bring it all the way up to what I would’ve gotten. Nevertheless, I was relieved to hear that there is a systematic way of statistically equating the scores.

The MC were easier than the ones my teacher gives us but still challenging. I think I got the harder DBQ. I know I grouped one document wrong, and I had nothing for outside evidence… I basically BSed the whole thing, but I still think it was worth like a 4/7 pts… Maybe…because I had PPAC for all documents and like 3 contexts. The LEQ was pretty easy because my teacher gave us almost the exact same prompt like a month ago. Overall, I feel like I failed, probably like a 3… BUT if the curve is anything like the one provided in the new barons book, I’m like low range 5, upper 4…I hope it’s like barons curve…

Everyone here talking about how easy the MC was for them is giving me anxiety… The MC was impossibly difficult for me and the rest of it was a breeze. Considering that my teacher didn’t give us any essays/writing practice and didn’t even tell us about the format change, I didn’t screw up too badly…

Ok…So there were two main versions of the test

  1. Easy multiple choice and SAQs …but really hard DBQ and okay LEQ
  2. Hard multiple Choice and Hard SAQS (focuses on the very end of the book which noone read cuz noone expected it to be on the test)…but really easy DBQ and LEQ

So essentially it balances out b/c one was easy/hard and other was hard/easy…so I wouldnt expect the curve to be too different
(I talked with a ton of people btw and I know the writing sections for both)

hoping for 5 with 60% Multiple choice 70% SAQ and 100% DBQ 100% LEQ (IM RLLY GOOD AT WRITING BTW…so also ez for me to bs the SAQs)

Oh geez I think I got the hard multiple choice form… I’m praying for a 50% on MC and a 70-80% on the rest. Do you guys think that’ll be enough for a 4?

I know for sure I got the form with the hard DBQ. It’s super interesting to think about the essay readers who have to pile through hours and hours of BS essay because I bet more than half of the people who got that forum with the hard DBQ, struggled with it.

@catfanatic6 Maybe, I got a 67% on the practice mc exam my teacher gave me without finishing my studying. My class has some really smart people I believe and the highest scores were only in the 70%. The writing portions are good enough but it all depends on the curve of the MC. And if mathdude12345 is right, I got the easy DBQ then therefore I got the hard MC, but I think the MC wasn’t too tough.

I felt like I had easy MC, easy SAQ, easy DBQ, and then I knew absolutely nothing on the LEQ’s (both were the same question, just different time periods)

But I guess all we can do now is wait

BTW, who else crammed by watching Tom Richey videos all day?

MC wasn’t too bad, SA was alright. I got the hard DBQ, so I mostly guessed on it. LEQ was alright, I think. Definitely messed up the DBQ. Hopefully I get a 3, lol.

If anyone here is interested, you can find accurate score calculators if you look up APUSH calculators. Since the websites haven’t accommodated to the Euro test format change.

I honestly didn’t like the test format change. My teacher didn’t tell us anything about it and I assumed there was no change because I had bought all my review books second hand. (So they were from past years) I guess it was my responsibility to find out myself, but my class realized the format changed 3 days before the test…
I didn’t like the change because with the old MC, you either knew it or not. This MC was really short on time and I felt like it actually destroyed my soul. The short answer were at first awful, but after I BS’d my responses, I realized they were mostly right. The DBQ was good because I got the easy one and the LEQ’s were seriously BS’d. However I think it was all right.

I’m seriously praying the people on College Confidential aren’t representative of the population (Stats reference) because then I’d be majorly screwed and glad to get a 2…

Some are saying that one test had a harder part A and one had a harder part B. The test with the harder essays will get a curve though; the tests do not balance out in that way. Multiple choice, people are going to get more similar scores no matter the slight differences in the questions. However a bad DBQ, can be the difference between a 3 and a 7, and takes up more time which affects your LEQ score. Just to put this in perspective, 1 DBQ point is equivalent to about 5 MC. Yes, maybe the test with the harder MC forced students to miss 5, at worst 10 more? The DBQ set could shave off 3-4 points and even take a point or two off the LEQ. In all, that’s equivalent to 20-25 MC.

I thought the MC wasn’t terrible, nor were the short answers. But, I know one of my short answers was nearly or completely wrong, oops. I had the “harder” DBQ, so idk…I thought I managed pretty well, but I was confusing myself as I wrote. I really didn’t think my LEQ was very good because I just couldn’t get my thoughts in order it seemed! And it was past 4 pm and I was scared I’d run out of time, so I kinda rushed through it…I was tired.
I’m scared for this score to come out haha

My entire testing was delayed because the testers before us took too long. Then there was a whole fiasco with my test where the administration people couldn’t find the rest of their instructions. They had lost like part of the manual or whatever. The testing ended up going from 11:00-6:30… That was a pain in the butt
