AP Exam Questions

My school offers around 8-9 AP courses. Therefore, I will be self-studying some exams on my own. Will it look redundant to adcoms for taking the CompSci A exam and then the CompSci AB exam the next year? I’m asking this because from what I’ve been told, AB has the same content as A but has more things added. Same goes for Calc AB and BC. Going back to the main question: Is it worth the time and money to take the CompSci A, Calc AB, etc. exam if I’m going to take the advanced level exam (i.e. CompSci AB, Calc BC) of the subject the year after?

If you don’t understand the question, just ask, because the word structure is really poor, I know.

Why don't use just take the Comp Sci AB and the Calc BC? To an adcom, it would look weird for a student to take both lower levels of an exam that could be taken at a higher level, if you're ready. If you aren't ready, then don't even think about taking the AB and BC.

I really dont know the answer to your question but this is how it goes in our school.

Only one Calc BC class is offered and it's only offered to Seniors. We have about 25 advance math students that will take the course, and as juniors, these students take the Calc AB course with the normal Calc AB seniors (which we are required to take the AP test). I suppose our school system does not consider a redundance in this and I see no problem in taking Calc AB then BC the next year. Same goes with APCS A and AB, because AB is actually not just A with more stuff. A covers less material but in greater depth.
