@ShrutiOfEarth: haha, i'm with you on that one. but hey, that should (in theory at least) be incentive enough, right? of course, if anyone's willing to pay me for passing grades, or even pay for my tests, I will gladly accept the generous offer :)

My high school doesn't give incentives, and they require that we take the test. We pay full freight for the AP exam and still have to take the teacher's final. But with any luck my future school will give me college credit for passing the AP exam.

Most of my AP classes (Econ., Gov., English, and Stat) all give us an A on the final if we sign up to take the exam. It's caused a little bit of controversy, though, especially for Econ. where we had to take the final exam and our teacher had already given those who signed up 95s on the final exam... one girl got a 13% on the exam but still got a B in the class (I think). Our teacher was furious.

My school actually does have a pretty good pass rates in most tests...except for the AP HUMAN/GOVT/ECON scores from a specific teacher who really sucks

At our school, if we do not take the AP test, we do not get honors credit for the class, so the AP class will count as a College Prep class on your transcript.

So basically everyone has to take the test.

In my county, if you sign up for the class you HAVE to take the exam and pay the $86, but they refund you for any exam grade of 3 or higher.

Have to pay for the exams and get nothing when pass.

In fact our school charges more than 86 dollars per exam, they make a few dollars on every exam.

SO JEALOUS!!!

my school pays for half of the $86, so that's pretty generous...but definitely nothing when compared to the monetary reward. yum.
