AP Lit vs. AP Lang

The english courses at my school prepare us for both AP english exams. I'm not very good at analyzing text, but i"m very good at grammar. Which Ap should I take?

AP Language. I feel like Lit is more about what you are reading, and Lang is more about HOW you read and write.

I believe you should take AP Language. I took AP Lit in high school and, depending on where you apply to college, I think AP Lang will help out more with English credits. For example, my AP Lit counted for some random English class, while AP Lang would have omitted me from taking Freshman year English.

But also depending on your teacher and the curriculum, you learn both grammar and analytical skills in AP Lit. This is especially true on the DBQ questions.

AP Lang focuses on your ability to write well quickly (it's not really about how you respond to the prompt despite what people say), AP Lit is about whether or not you can think of deep 'insightful' sounding things to says about books that you've read. For the MC they are really pretty similar, with Lang having a few more terms and Lit having more tone-type questions (and more poetry).

AP language is basically a glorified version of the critical reading on the SAT...

although if you are taking language, pick up a prep book and review the rhetorical modes and stuff. that's tested in one of the essays.
