My AP Lit class is pretty good, but not enough for me to ensure a 5.

How do you all study for this exam? Do you just take practice MC exams? How do methods for approaching AP Lit MC differ from that of approaching SAT CR? Also, for the FRQs, my teacher grades leniently so I’m not sure whether the grades I receive are accurate.

SAT CR, in my opinion, is far easier than AP Lit MC. For AP Lit, I recommend marking up the excerpt - circle important words, key phrases, potential symbols, metaphors, etc. Then, begin to diagnose the main theme of the excerpt. What’s the author’s/poet’s main message? What is the purpose of the excerpt? This information will help greatly with the MC questions, as they almost always (unless completely based on technique) point to the greater purpose of the work and intention of the author.
