AP Physics C

kyt, i disagree, if you look at it, E&M is BY FAR harder....yea, probably its because you did the same thing as I did, (Mech 1st semester) so you forgot, but it comes back easily :D trust me.

Meng: IT IS hard for me to finish all 35 Q's, so I most of the time do about 20-25

Yeah. Mech 1st semester. E/M 2nd semester. Don't remember mech =(.

For the same person, it's definitely harder to get a 5 on Physics C Mechanics compared to Physics B. Mechanics is a lot easier than E&M, though.

E and M is easier lol i got a 5 on that but not on mech

people say e and m is way harder, but i think thats not so more often than youd think...i think e and m is much easier to imagine and conceptualize, as well as cooler and harder to get distracted on

For test preparation, I'm just going through two released Mulitple choice tests, and Princeton Review book, both Mech and E&M. I think knowing how to do all the problems in the Princeton Review book will guarentee a 5.

I don't think E&M is harder. Its just that people's background in it is very weak. If you've taken calculus, you would already know about 40% of the mechanics.

E&M has an easier curve, that's why.

Please don't tell me "there are other posts all over this board with that info," because physics C is not included on any of them.

Anyone know the raw score required for a 4 on Mech. and on E&M, preferably for last year's released exam as I have a copy of it?

No clue, but does anyone know if there are free released exams anywhere?

raw score for a 5 on mechanics is around 55/90
raw score for a 5 on E&M is around 49/90

not sure about 4s

checkout apcentral.collegeboard.com for released free response(you have to register, its free)...i dunno about mc though

Ahh! I need to study some more today/tomorrow. We have been doing a lot of pratice tests in class (just MC). I think E&M is A LOT easier just because Mechanics was taught first semester and E&M the second.

I have been getting ~30 right on each MC section. I hope this will help me since I hate free response and am not confident about it:(.

I'm going to cram all day today and take 3 full tests (or so I hope..) of Mechanics. Hopefully that should help me with whatever I'm struggling on (right now it's just ... I'm not sure actually. I think I get it but I need more work with Torque and rotation and oscillation).

55/90 doesn't seem TOO terrible..

According to the 1993 Test,
69/90 on Mechanics is 5
66/90 on E&M is 5

Where did you get those numbers, athlonmj?

Does anyone have the 2004 released exam they'd be willing to share, I have the 1998 one if they need it... email is indeedporsche@gmail.com.

Sorry,
that is a 59/90 on Mechanics and a 56/90 on E&M

56/90, is that with the multiple choice raw score multiplied by the 90/35 adjustment?

Free response exams from 2001 to 2004:
http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/physics_c/samp.html?physicsc

as long as we dont see any crazy sliding rail e/m problems I should be set for e/m. (I have taken 3 e/m ap tests in school, that one (98) was my only 4). For mechanics I just need to do better on the mc, my fr is fine.
I just need to slow down, I tend to finish sections in under 35 min, so I will just take the extra time for review.

Does anyone know the format? Is it all of the mech first or all mc first?

mech mc, the em mc, the the free response in the same order
