Mechanics and E&M each have a 45-minute MC and a 45-minute FR, and you can use graphing calculators.

you CANNOT use anycalculators on the multiple choice section. calculators are allowed only on the free response section.

Any information worth memorizing that is not in the Table of EQ?

W = -dK (that was a delta ;))

good luck everyone. may the force be with you, always. :D

that was fun

...

(thats all I have to say about the C-Mech. test)

w00t.. just got done w/ the test... i think i got a 4 for sure on both test and most likely a 5 on both. i didnt get to finish the mechanics MC so i had to skip around a little in the last 5 mins to get the questions i could. e&m MC was predictable mostly. free responses for both (except for a few parts here and there) were relatively easy. any thoughts?

that very last mech was difficult...mech in general was unusually tough, at least compared to the tests I practiced. Although I must say, Mech 2 was very overdue and predictable...too bad I still effed it up!

I botched #2 on the mechanics free response. Now that I realize the answer, I'm kicking myself, but no one in our class got it. Otherwise I think I got about 30 right on the mechanics multiple choice and maybe 25-30 right on the E&M multiple choice. The other FRQs were pretty easy IMO. I thought I got full credit on the E&M questions, and probably close to (if not) full credit on the other 2 mechanics questions. How does the curve look?

9/7 * MC raw + FR score = total raw right?

That looks like ~67, maybe between 63-70 on mechanics. Probably about 70, maybe between 60-75, on E&M. Is that a 5 for each?

gmf05, don't forget to subtract (MC wrong/4) from your raw MC score.

Comopared to the loads of practice tests (real) and Free REsponse questions i've done in the last few weeks...that last Mechanics part of the test was unbelievably HARD imo. I must of stared for 20 minutes on Mech. 2 part c-ish on thinking on what would give mass....

My 5 is screwed, my own fault for not being prepared, but screwed.

The curve will proabably be pretty low. way below 67 on the mech for a 5.

would anyone who has the 2004 exam share what the actual curve for last year was?

It was a 49 for a 5 last year. I'm hoping the curve is easier this year because the test, IMO, was harder.

Wow, the curve better be like 29 for 5 this year or else I'm majorly screwed.

The Mechanics section...... blew.

Is it 49 for the Mech or EM? What's the curve for both of them?

Thanks!

no one knows what the curve is yet. In the past the e/m curve is usually better than the mech curve though.

MC for mech and e&m were a joke

free response for mech was a bit hard
free response for e&m was the easiest i've seen

^my thoughts exactly

oh god i just got owned... hopefully the curve is REALLY REALLY generous. dear god mechanics was hard

done with physics forever
