49 for a 5? Are you serious? It's out of 90, right? How could anyone possibly not get a 5?

Wow, that would be amazing.

49 for a 5? Are you serious? It's out of 90, right? How could anyone possibly not get a 5?

Wow, that would be amazing.

Yup, 49 for last year. I took it, and got a 56. There's no way I'm making a 5 on this year's exam though.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 49 for a 5?!?!&#(*&% Oh dear, there is hope! So, do you guys who have experience with the 2004 test or know people who do know how hard it was (especially in comparison to the latest one)?

The average scores for the FR section of Physics C Mechanics has been going drastically down so hopefully the curve will reflect that. Last years I didn't view as being that difficult so if it could be a 49 last year, hopefully they'll lower it a couple more points (46?) and it should be safer...

I took the 2004 exam as our mock AP exam. The multiple choice was about the same as this year's. The FR was MUCH easier.

XRedcomet, what about the curve on the E&M protion of the test?

49/90 for a 5?????

Don't blow my hopes :( YES! It'll be even less this year.. [cough]

down w/ physics!

im glad im done w/ physics... thats 1 less AP outta the way

49/90 for a 5..thats amazing...

what is it for a 4?

write your name 40 times

what did you guys think of this year's test? I thought it was extremely easy...hopefully that's not a bad sign.

how is it out of 90? 35 MC + 45 FR = 80. Am I missing something here?

I thought 2 was easy, though I wasted a bunch of time on the stupid linear line...i knew it, and then I dawdled and lost time for the graph. I lurv the LinReg function on the calc tho.

And 1....totally blew me away. I bsed it. Though it was logical bs. And 3 was good, cept I forgot the translational/rotational substitution and didn't cancel out my d^2, and just skipped the last part all together.

Heh, holding out on the MC.

ebonytear: MC is 35 questions, subtract 1/4 for each one missed, and then multiply by 9/7. 35 x 9/7 = 45

oh. lol, thx 2+2=5.

I agree with Meng....I hope they lower the curve. I just approxiamated my score, and I really need that lowered...crosses fingers I do think that they will be forced to lower it if everyone as a whole did considerably worse. heh, I hope CC reflects the maj. of people who took it.

the frq's fro the mechanics were really tough for me, but maybe that is because we hadn't even touched air resistance in my class yet, and had only talked about gravity for a day...mc was easy, but i bombed section 2

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the Mechanics FRQ were hard as hell. This is a good thing, because this will likely lower the curve immensely.

I'm thinking 50% a 5...that seems pretty fair (and I'm not being sarcastic).

I won't discuss the questions, but I'll say this: the FRQ questions were designed so that you didn't need to have a specific understanding of any one aspect of mechanics. Rather, they were targeted to test your ability to apply general concepts.

Notice how in #1 the question explicitly gives you an equation for the "air resistance"....

I thought the E&M was relatively easy. The curve was 46 for a 5 back in 1998 in E&M; don't know how much it might've changed.

hopefully it doesn't change, though curves I have seen have generally ranged anywhere from the high forties to the mid sixties for EM.
