AP Psych self-study this summer?

Hey everyone!

I’m new to the concept of self-studying material.

Any tips/suggestions on getting that 5?

Here are the books I bought for my psych self-study:

AP Psychology (Barron’s)
Psychology (Myers-textbook)

Will these books be sufficient?

Thanks!

If you really want to make sure all the materials thoroughly, you should buy 5 steps to a 5 because Barron’s sometimes does not include what’s on the real exam. Also, 5 steps to a 5 has multiple choice questions closest to the reale xam…

Myers is a great textbook. But there are many unnecessary materials not included in the real exam.

I took an AP exam this year, and I studied with Myers, Barron’s, 5 steps to a 5…

I self studied using just Barron’s prep book.

For future reference do NOT buy the textbook. I made that mistake with Biology, I have plenty of friends and older mentors in college who have given me tips. Look through Amazon and purchase the book with the best reviews in this case 5 Steps/Barrons you don’t need both though just dedicate yourself thoroughly to one. Take all the practice tests and for the ones you got wrong I suggest typing the questions on word document and writing the answer below it found in the review book, this always helps me SO much. Good luck!

P.S. The reason why you should not purchase a textbook is because they are ex*****ve, bulky, and contain excess information while review books have what you need to know that means everything you need to know. Also consider at many schools kids outline their entire textbooks and yet end up with a 1 or 2 on the AP Exam. Why? Because they forget most of it and some stuff they didn’t even have to know. I self studied AP Human Geo with Barrons reading it never writing except typing up wrong answers. Got a 5. If you need any more advice feel free to PM me.

Get Princeton Review from the library, you don’t need to buy the textbook
