AP psychology question

I am pretty interested in psychology. My school doesnt offer it, and i pretty much know nothing about the subject. It is feasible to self study for the AP test? I'm a junior. Can i start now and take the ap test next may? Or should i wait until senior year? Is it like SAT where u sign up for a test site and go there and take it? I understand Barron's is good. Is this book enough? What is a suggest plan to study off of? Sorry for so many questions. Any feedback is greatly appreciated

Get "Psychology" by David Myers. Just read the textbook and you will do well. The AP exam is pretty much fact based, so again, just read the book.

I wouldn't recommend only using a textbook, as they rarely distinguish the important information from the useless information. I'm self-studying for AP psych, and I'm only using the Barron's book, and it seems to be very good. Like you, I never took a Psych class before.

If you feel like the Barron's book isn't enough, get Psychology by David Myers. From my experience, however, it isn't necessary.

Oh, and it's not too late to start studying. I know people who started studying for it a month in advance and managed to get a 5. I would recommend starting earlier than that though. Good luck!

When would i have to pay the fee? Do i do it through the school or collegeboard?

The CB website says that the AP coordinator you contact is responsible for collecting fees and ordering your test.

Who is the "AP coordinator"?

AP Psychology will be easy to study for. Compared to the content covered in my Psychology class, the Barrons book should be enough.

The AP Coordinator is at your school. At my school, it's one of our counsellors. You should also be able to pay through the CB, check their website.

The AP coordinator is the person in charge of the AP program at each school. My school, however, doesn't have AP (it has the IB instead), so it has no coordinator.

I actually don't think you can pay through the collegeboard. It doesn't mention anything like this at any part of their site. It just says to call AP services to get the names and numbers of local coordinators who are supposed to take it from there.

We just started AP Psyco (as its called).

I've been told the class is fun and the AP exam is ALL vocab and facts as said before...

The subject is fun to learn because it deals with the human mind, and that's a subject that interests everyone. But other than that, the exam really is just facts.

Yea, just get Barron's if you dont have time to read textbooks. Its really not that difficult of a test.
