AP & SAT2 US HISTORY -- how are they different?

im planning to take APUSH this may and SAT2 USH this June
and im now studying for AP but bc most of the sat prep books are more elaborated than AP prep books im reading KAPLAN & Barrons SAT2 prep book and some parts of American People.

but is it ok to study with SAT2 prep book in order to take AP USH?
Are they really different?

Other than prep books, the actual test-- are they different ?( except for DBQ section, ) for ex, are the formats or tendencies of the questions of two tests differ from each other?

Thanks:D

They are different. Obviously, the SAT II focuses on events. APUS itself is about trends and change. I consider the SAT II to be much easier to do for the simple reason that you can memorize information and do well. Though on APUS itself, you can't memorize. You have to have the critical thinking skills to be able to analyze the events and write about the general trends. If I were you, I'd suggest focusing on the SAT II and not taking the AP at all (as I said on the other post).
