AP Scholar awards, is there any real benefit to them?

Is there any real benefit to getting the AP Scholar awards?

I understand that the different AP scholar awards may help you set a goal to achieve that may help you overall, but is there any benefit to the awards as far as admissions and scholarships go?

I’d like to know this as well.

No real benefit in my opinion other than the general benefit of taking challenging courses and doing well in those courses and doing well on the ap exams.

They’re not that important…I didn’t even list “AP Scholar” on my college applications.

Most applicants don’t bother sending official AP transcripts–it’s expensive, it’s not required, and the application allows you to self-report your AP scores. So if a student lists National AP Scholar on their application (unusual by the end of junior year), it’s shorthand for confirming that they took a highly rigorous schedule and did well on the AP tests.

No idea if it helps with admissions or scholarships, but it seems unlikely to be a major factor.
