AP Score Report

I wonder whether one can report AP score selectively. This year I only took music theory and this is the first AP I have ever taken. I don't want it to be in future score report. Is it possible?

BTW, I got a 4 and my future major has nothing to do with music. I am interested in music but I didn't take it seriously. (I didn't take the course)

Thanks for your response.

1)Conventional wisdom holds that AP scores carry little to no weight in the admissions process and that you shouldn't worry about it anyway
2) A 4 is an asset not a liability. Case closed. There is absolutely no reason for you to hide this from any college, no matter how selective. In terms of credits, even if you don't plan to major in music you still might get elective credit for it.
3)IIRC, when you fill out the form to take the AP's, they send one score report to the college you put down automatically and for free. If you filled it out, then that college already has your scores, and it's too late.
4) Yes, you can withold grades, although like everything else college board charges through the nose to do it. for more information see AP: Grade Reporting Services

Yes, you can selectively withold grades to specific colleges.

If you have already been admitted it does not matter. If not (rising senior)
you might want to tread with caution depending on the college
you are applying to. Some top schools may not look at 4's and assume you
took the APs lightly but as an indication of constrained potential?

I seriously doubt you should worry about a 4--especially in a course unrelated to your major. Also, you don't report your scores to a school until you're accepted anyway. A school will not rescind your admission in July before you enroll because of a 4. They wouldn't even deny you acceptance--but this isn't the issue since they won't see it anyway.

If for whatever reason you really do want to do this, you can for a fee of $10 per AP exam. Instructions are located in your AP Student Pack. You only need to do this the final year you take AP exams before enrolling and submitting scores.

If you really want to erase that score forever, I believe you could permanently cancel it for no fee.

Thanks all for your responses. I am sophomore. The musical theory is the first and only AP I have taken so far. My question is that, if one has taken 10 AP's and they are 5, then reporting all 5's without the only 4 would look better, or including the 4 does not help at all.
