AP scores and class registration

So I went to Preview a week or so ago and I have a few AP scores pending and because of this I had to register for classes that I should already have credit for when I get my scores.

So at preview they gave me an email that I should use once my scores are in and I can register for the appropriate classes. Now does this mean once UF gets my AP scores?, or when I get them in the mail?, or when I call up and ask College Board July 1st?

If it is the first one, then how long does UF usually get the scores compared with the other methods?

Also how does registration for this work, for example I am currently in MAC 2311 but I plan on getting a 5 on the AP Calc BC exam so I would like to take MAC 2312. Is it possible that the class will be full then and thus I would be stuck in MAC 2311?

Thanks

uh, not here to answer your question, but is important that you sign up for mac2312 and not mac2313? also, those classes don’t get full. the sections with good times might though.

Well they don’t advise skipping Calculus II under any circumstances.

thats true. the reason i would suggest it is that every once in a while someone asks, and the general consensus here tends to be that its not worth it. i also know of people who’ve done it without problems. the only overlap between 2312 and 2313 is the techniques of integration and trig (which you’re expected to know coming into 2313 anyways).

just something to think about. if you aren’t feeling particularly ambitious, or if you end up getting a 4 or whatever on your AP exam, then by all means, 2312 is probably your best option. if you got a 5 and feel like you really mastered most of the content in calc BC, its probably not worth the time and $600 for credits you already have.

Speaking of Calc 2 knowledge for Calc 3… do Series make a reappearance or is it just the Integration methods, polar, and parametrics that return? Cause I have no plans to waste my time and money taking Calculus 2 again when I expect a 5 on my BC calc exam… (currently registered in MAC2312 until they get my BC score so I can register in MAC2313) If your wondering how I’m in Calc 2 already, it’s because of the 5 I got on the AB exam (they have that score) Yes, I know my school is different then most. Calc AB and BC are taught as Calc 1 and Calc 2 (no overlap but some review, two completely separate courses)

series don’t show up in calc 3 at all. they do reappear in diffeq though. if you’re smart enough to get a 5 on BC and then ace 2313, it wont be a problem.
