Whoa! For the past few months (for some reason) I have been under the impression that getting a 5 on the US Govt. & Politics AP test and doing the TX Govt. test would take care of the government credit requirement at UT (AP test for GOV 310L and the UT test for 312L).

When I looked online this morning to petition for credit, I only had the option of claiming credit for GOV 310L, but I still need GOV 312L according to my degree flowchart. I was getting so excited to finish my first semester of college with all my non-technical requirements taken care of, but this seriously stinks!

Can anyone confirm this? I worked pretty darn hard in high school, thinking that I would get credit for these non-major related requirements, but this really spoils my mood. = (

Your discovery is correct. Passing score on AP Govt + TX Govt test = GOV 310L.

There are a variety of ways to get 312L credit, including in residence, online through UT Ext., online through ACC (or another school), or taking a different test (i think).

There are exemption tests that you can take at UT or at ACC in order to get credit for it. Clearly since you got credit for 310, you will know enough information to get credit for 312 too (if you happen to take a form of the exemption test).
