AP scores on OPUS

Does anyone's scores appear on their OPUS accounts?

Hi Hoops19,
Yes, my S. AP is now reported on opus…Eng 101 Expository Writing! Have you seen yours posted yet?

Yes, mine was posted today. Thanks for the response.

Anyone here passed more than 6 AP exams? Are your AP scores posted on Opus? My son’s scores are still not listed on OPUS but he has gotten 4’s or 5’s on eight exams. Perhaps they didn’t know which ones to use for credit?

Perhaps. I would call up and ask.

@seiclan I’m in the same situation as your son (5’s on eight exams) and I was contacted this morning about choosing which exams I’d like to use for credit and which for placement alone. I responded promptly and my scores are now listed. If you haven’t already received an email about this, I’m sure you will soon.

We did get an email this afternoon saying the same. They didn’t however list which AP tests would count for what courses, did yours?
Do you know what he would get credit for if he used these?:
Calculus BC (8 credit hours)
Psychology
Physic C Mechanical
Physics C Elect and Mag
Statistics

I did learn that he would only get general history elective credit (NOT Gen ed req.) for US Government and World History. Also they don’t give any credit for the human geo so that one is out of contention.

He would get:

Calculus BC (8 credit hours) - MATH 111 and 112Z
Psychology - PSYC 110 or 111 (forget which one…)
Physic C Mechanical - PHYS 141 (or 151 if you talk to the Department)
Physics C Elect and Mag - PHYS 142 (or 152 if you talk to the Department)
Statistics - MATH 107

Can anyone give an opinion regarding Eng Lang/Eng Lit AP credit. My read of this is that credit will only be given for one or the other. Is it better to get credit for Eng 101 or for Eng 181/Lit 110?

Now I am a bit confused. DS emailed them yesterday his AP credit choices (post #7) and today his credit is listed on opus but, instead of giving him the 8 credits for calc BC they gave him 4 credits for math 112z ( with Math 111 listed on his transcript but without credit)and they gave him the 4 credits for ap Gov (POL 101 I think)to make it the 24 allowed incoming credits. I suppose this is a better use of his credits? Any thoughts?

Any of those labels fulfill the frosh writing requirement.

If you are thinking of majoring in those departments, read the requirments for the major to see how the different labels might fit.

@seiclan

It sounds like your son will fulfill more general ed requirements the way they allocated the AP hours.

GED requirement IV is met by 1 math or quantitative reasoning (AP Calc) and GED VI by 2 history, society (poli sci included) or culture. After counting the AP Gov, he would need the 2nd course.

Chaz - yes, more GERs are fulfilled. He has credit for GER IV ( they used his stats credit, not the calc), V (2 physics C), and both of VI (Gov and Psych credit).
