i think 4feynman is a lil jealous stany

I love the subgroup of posters here that refer to a 4 as sadness and a 3 as heart breaking. We wont' even TALK about 2's!

Stan, the same thing happens when you decide to go backstage to Cochella the weekend before AP's and sleep two hours total before your first AP test.

even if i was forced to take the tests, i think i would still try my hardest...

Yeah... I almost didn't study for my IB Bio test, but something inside me kicked in at the last minute and forced me to. And now I'm incredibly glad I did... speaking of which, if I just wanted to take some neuro or biophysicsy courses at Stanford, d'you think they'd let me skip out of biocore with a 6 (out of 7) on the IB Biology HL test? (I think they're giving me 10 units for it, so they clearly respect the test and the score)

Wow, 10 freaking units? Haha i guess that's why the following joke exists:

How Stanford freshman does it take to screw in a light bulb?

None, it's a sophomore class.

How many Stanford sophomores does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

One, but they get five units for it.

Haha!! That's really funny....
And yeah, well, I'm not positive that's even what they do with IB HLs, because there isn't any really specific information out there... just that you can get 10 units for scores of 5/6/7 on IB HLs, but I don't know which ones [mine were Bio, English, and History], and if they always give 10 or what. I want the units, though, I just don't wanna have to take biocore (I'm not even a bio major, I'm just talking about taking some neuro for interest), 'cause I swear I've done all that stuff soooooo much, and if I major in something else I'm not gonna have room in my schedule to do it again anyway.

i don't think anyone can get out of that stupid biocore.

Ughhh... but I swear, I've been over it and over it and over it and... I don't have two years to spend on the chem and the biocore, 'cause I want to be physics! Guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Ya I hate that we have to devote half of our undergrad education to the premed curriculum. I was thinking about taking some time off after undergrad to pursue an MPH instead of jumping straight into medical school so I can relaxed a bit. Breath.

Well, I know you can't get out of it if you want to do med school... but if I give up the idea of med school and decide I just want to take some neuro for personal enjoyment...? Argh.

But I definitely hate that the premed courses are so inflexible. And that the physics major is so unit-heavy! (It's not even that bad, but add premed classes and time goes POOF). It's gonna be a tough line to walk, figuring out what I want to do...

What exactly is the premed curriculum? The pre-medical advising website seems to be permanantly under construction, and the only other information I could find is that you need one year of physics, one year of organic chemistry, one year of inorganic chemistry, and one year of biology. How does that add up to two full years?

entropicgirl and I were talking about the bio and chem requirement of the premed curriculum.

the biocore and physics core takes 3 quarters while the chem core is around 4-5 quarters.
