AP Siemens Award for Science

Does anybody know when we find out if we got it? I just found out today that I 5'd all the remaining ones I had to take, so I'd like to know the timeline for notification, etc.

What is AP Siemens Award? Thanks for explaining

According to CB’s website, all problems must be resolved by September 15, 2012, so I’m presuming notifications will come out sometime after that. That’s about all there is.

@query It’s a scholarship award, either $2,000 of $5,000 for getting as many 5’s as possible on certain science tests [AP: Scholar Awards](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>View Your AP Scores – AP Students | College Board)

I remember my friends found out around September/October. They officially found out later.

How did they unofficially find out?

bump, has anyone gotten anything yet? I expect to get the award, but I wanted to be sure.
Also I’ve been away from my mailbox, so i wouldn’t know if it came in the mail.

nvm, got my letter today!

Congrats! What did the letter say?

Anybody else receive a letter? I haven’t but I’m a little farther away form Monepo from NJ…

The letter says I’m being “considered” for the award, and it had a form to fax to College Board with some verification (like personal and school info). This does mean I am going to get the award right?

@Monepo I just got my letter in Ohio, we are the state award winners I believe (and perhaps in the running for National?). This is just to confirm we’re willing to receive the award

Yep, I just received the same letter. =)

@iambenk, my son also got 5 on all 8 subjects from Ohio. I am not sure if he can still hope for letter. If you don’t mind can you tell us what you got (Male award or female award)?

^I think if there are multiple people with the same amount of 5s then it goes to total number of tests or something as a tiebreaker? Or something like that

I just got my letter in WA. Does this mean I’m in the running in my state or that I’ve won it?

From what I understand, you’ve pretty much won if you received it.

Swaggggggggggggggg

@Ohioparent1 I got the male letter for Ohio. Sorry to your son, he’s obviously a great student! The tiebreaker is based on our raw composite scores that only the collegeboard has access to

@Emily0806 I’m 99% sure! Looking threads up about years past agrees, and it just makes sense

^Can you link us to past threads?
