Okay, so this coming year I'll be taking SPA 111, SPA 112, SPA 211, and SPA 212 at my CC. A 4+ in AP Spanish language grants credit for SPA 211 and 212, will I be prepared for the exam? How hard is it? I'm a non-native speaker.

How are you able to take 4 spanish courses in one year? Second, what year of high school are you going into?

If possible, I would delay taking AP Spanish until your junior or senior. I personally I have taken up to Spanish 3 and plan on AP Spanish as a senior. Even though Spanish 4 (next year as a junior) is very similar to AP in material, I feel an extra year will better prepare me for the exam.

AP Spanish is a VERY difficult exam. It's probably one of the most difficult, if not the most difficult exams (of course difficulty is subjective). It thoroughly tests your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills so it's not like your traditional Spanish class exam. It would be even harder for a non native. Hold off on AP.

I'm taking it through my CC; my CC has accelerated the courses so that one has 1 Spanish course per quarter for a total of 4 courses in total.

I'm a rising Sophomore. :)

Also, there's no way for me to take anymore Spanish classes next year except by independent study with the CC of something like SPA 260 or SPA 300 which are the first courses required after declaring a major or minor in Spanish. SPA 260 is the course you would place into with a 4+ on the AP Spanish language exam. I don't know if that helps.

I don't think it would hurt to take it. I would take the classes and when AP registration comes take a mock AP. Of course you won't be finished with all the material (actually you might cuz idk the spanish curriculum) so just aim for a passing score. If you do, then take the exam. imo of course.

I guess I'll order a prep book in the middle of the year. I guess I'll have a better feel as I progress in the courses.

Ironically, I I'll actually only have 6 days of class left after I'd take the AP test.

Oh... and AP registration? LOL As if. I'm the only one taking any APs at my school so I actually might need to bring that up really early because the schools in my county want their money pretty early.
