Would 11-15 APs probably be enough for male NC state scholar? I'm trying to earn the title as a sophomore. Is there anyway I can see the number of APs past NC winners have had?

Bringing Up My Post

never heard of the numbers being released. dude, call me a naysayer, but doing that will end being pretty fruitless. especially for your sophomore year. id say trying for that wouldn't be good in a number of ways. but also its widely believed that just academics will get you into almost any upper echelon university. well roundedness...

Don't do this... you're insane. That's simply crazy. Why the hell would you want to do this? Are you mentally stable?

Yeeeeeeeahh... don't get that caught up in college admissions, academic awards, etc.
i'll leave it at that

man... sophomore year is the time to screw around a little and kind of regret when you start thinking about college. get into a bad relationship with the opposite sex, don't work as hard as you should... that's a quintessential sophomore year. not 342 APs.

Are you mentally stable?

No, actually.

trust me, u don't wanna do this.

sophomore year is the year you start showing symptoms of senioritis

which makes it even more difficult to study...

unless you wanna ruin your life by studying everyday, i wouldn't do it.

esp for the cost of the exams

First of all, I doubt 11-15 APs will win it for you. I know for a fact that the Florida AP State Scholar had to have taken well over 20.

Well, my county would give me the money back for any exam I made a 3+.

Florida, on average, offers more APs than NC. The only info I could find online was a past male state scholar with 16... and they made that sound like it was a new record.

Don't do it. It would be an absolute waste of time and you'd likely collapse and burn out.

I would say 16 or 17 is the minimum for most states

20+ for more populous states i.e Cali

Probably like, 37 for Cali. LOL

and then think... some uber-over-achiever like you taking all of those exams and making them your life for a year... you'd be so bored junior and senior year!! LOL..

but really... i spread out the tests i liked throughout years so i wouldn't get too bored in classes.

if you really are set on getting state AP, i would stretch it out over to your senior year. because also think - you have to score well also. you could take 20, but if someone else gets a higher average and the same number... you've lost it.
take the max number of AP's at your school (i really wouldnt take ones in subjects you abhor though man...) and self study for maybe one, two, or three a year. not for the faint of heart. if you take 4 APs soph, junior, and senior year, and self study 2 each year... that's 18.

by the way. most schools limit AP credit. so half of this would equal up to just a paper, maybe some scholarships.
