AP teachers upset at low scores?

If you do get a low score on an AP exam, do you think your AP teacher will be THAT upset at you? I mean, come on - if you tried your hardest and all, they won't do something drastic as like write you a horrible college reccomendation and never let you see it, right? ...

A teacher at my school quit before they had a chance to fire her because of her AP test passing rate (only 2 of her students passed (3), and they were study-monsters as they both got 5s). Bio, btw.

edit: oh and they probably won't care so much, they have other students' scores to look at (with the exception of the teacher at my school that is..).

My AP Stats teacher will be devestated if I got less than a 5 on that exam, cause' I'm the only one in there that really had a solid grasp of the material. Personally, I'd be satisfied with passing, but she'd be upset if I didn't get a 5..

Lots of teachers at my school seem really satisfied with 3's, actually. I think they know which kids will get 5's and that sort of thing, but most of the teachers I know seems genuinely pleased when a lot of their students just pass the exam.

My world histrory teacher expected a 5 for me. I got a 3.

I know my Psych teacher would be INCREDIBLY disappointed if I got less than a 5 (he's told me over and over again that he expects it) but I don't think he'd mess up my college rec letter over it (he wrote it at the end of last year since I was applying during the summer). I think any teacher who would write you a college recommendation letter wouldn't do that because well, why are you choosing that teacher? Because you work hard in that class, you grasp the material quickly, you're pleasant in class, etc. That doesn't change b/c you didn't meet their expectations.

Well, I hope not. If it did, you shouldn't be asking that teacher for a recommendation to begin with XD

ok u arent gonna have them again for that class. the class is oveer so who cares what they think, they only want the money for their students who pass. i could care less if they are mad at me lol

lol my teacher wouldve prob be really sad if i hadnt got a 5...but it really depends on the person and the teacher

Teachers' get money for their students passing? I don't think my school has that policy.

at my school for each student tha passes, the teacher receive $80

What if you were your own teacher (self-studied)?

That's a good motivator for educators but kind of ridiculous.

lol... hmm my teachers have a little competition each year to see who can get more 5's... it's just funny watching them but it depends on the teachers - if they're lucky, they'll get a bunch of smart kids... if they're not, well, there's always next year.

If they get upset, tell them to **** off.

Our teachers get money too, $50 per student that passes up to 40 students for a total of $2000.

i thought teachers just kno if u pass or fail/ i don't think they kno your actual score... they just have a count of the number of 5's 4's etc..

Oh trust me they know much, much, much more. :)

Yeah, they get your numeric score.

A few years ago a school made the news because teachers were giving answers to students for the TSAKS test (or whatever it is) so that the teachers could get bonuses. If only they did that at my school for APs... hehe

The teachers at my school could care less - they'll probably just say "I's disappointed by your score; you worked hard last year." Unless you didn't work hard last year, in which case they'll be ****ed at you anyway.

In our school, the teacher's reactions are usually based on their expectations of what they expect you to get. So like this year, my old calc teacher would be super ****ed if didn't get a five on AB, but if I got a two in USH he could care less.
