<p>Hypothetically if I was to take a number of AP test (~3) by self-studying and do poorly (2's), would that hurt me... Obviously, I would waste the money for the test, but besides the cost is there any penalty.</p>
<p>My understanding is this:if you were an underclassman taking AP exams and you do bad, not only would you lose the cost of the test, but when you submit your results to colleges they would see your results, but if you do this as a senior Colleges will not see your results before they already accept/reject you.</p>

<p>They won’t see it before they accept you. Plus there is a high chance you are self-reporting the scores anyways.
That 2 depends though… On a transcript it could actually look like a failing class as in you’ve received less units than you’ve attempted (although no GPA penalty). May or may not affect you in the future as advisers or professors might have to look at your records including AP scores to make decisions…</p>
<p>You just won’t get college credit. Theres nothing else that’ll hurt you. I’ve never heard of anyone getting rescinded because they failed AP exams senior year.</p>
