As a sophomore, I took AP US History, got an "A" in the course and a "5" on the AP exam.

As a Junior, I recently took the AP exams in Spanish, English Literature, and Biology. Although I received "A"'s in all three courses, I don't think that I did well on the AP Spanish exam. I feel much more confident about the other two exams. (I also took the SAT II in Spanish and got a 710.)

Here's my question: Until June 15th, I have the option to "withhold" my AP Spanish exam grade. In other words, it would not get reported to Penn automatically as I had originally indicated when I took the test. It could always be "released" at a later date.

My college counselor says that it doesn't matter and not to bother withholding it. She doesn't think that a low AP exam grade would negatively effect my application. Does that make sense?

As your college counselor said, it does not matter when you apply. Because:
1) you send in official AP report AFTER you get in.
2) you can just list '5' AP scores/subject under: additional test info
3) If you score lower than 3, you don't have to put scores (since listing AP scores is optional) and college assume you got 3

schools see your official AP report AFTER you get in??
so when adminstrators read you app they only see the scores you wrote down?? need a little clarification..

Yeah but if you dont report an AP score it looks fishy and they know you didnt do well. You still need 4s and 5s b/c 3s, 2s, and 1s look bad applications.

EDIT- Also you cant use Eloquence's 2 on Euro as a baseline since he is hispanic (no offense, I'm not rascist) and there is a bit different standard. Dont hate the playa; hate the game...the game of admissions and affirmative action.
