I'm wondering if anyone has any information to share about apartments in Boulder near the university, or near public transportation, for an incoming grad student.

Our son's apartment search will be his own, but if anyone is aware of places to avoid, or places especially good, I'll pass this info on to him.

Thanks in advance!

My D shared an apartment in the Canterwood Apartments last year. She could walk to campus, take a bus, or drive. Her apartment had laundry facilities in it; she also rented a garage (extra). These were not the cheapest apartments in Boulder, I’m sure, but we thought it was nice and had a good location.

Try boulder craigslist ([craigslist: boulder classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events](http://boulder.craigslist.org/)) Housing category.

My son will be renting his first apartment next year in Boulder. He looked at various rental agencies via the Internet, also Craigslist has a lot of listings. his apartment will be on the east side of campus, the quieter side of campus.

Also avoid the Hill area.It is the area where the parties, frats, and parties are held.

I’ve heard nice things about small (really small) houses in the Pearl St. area.

Thanks everyone. I know about Craigslist, of course, and was looking for specific info on specific places! He won’t be able to go out there beforehand to rent an apartment, so will be relying on the internet. We all know that there’s a world of difference between on-line portrayals of apartments and reality.

I’ll pass this info on to him. When he went to visit in March he didn’t know yet whether he’d be going there, so apartment hunting wasn’t on the agenda.

D’s BF lived in the Coronado apartments. Not as nice as Canterwood, but decent – and, cheaper. D used “Housing Helpers” to locate her roommate (she didn’t have luck with Craigslist).

I lived in a small house on Pine Street one year (way back in the 70’s.) I also lived up in the mountains. :-)

I just realized I have a close friend whose son found a place to rent last summer in July, during his orientation. He was a junior transfer student and needed to find a place quickly. He looked on Craigslist and really got lucky: found a condo that was bought by another undergraduate’s students’ parent. Completely furnished, in a nice area. I think she told me that he originally had two roomates but one of them is going to be an RA this coming year so they might be looking for another roomate. If you private message me , I might be able to put you in contact with them and you could see if they are looking for another roomate or not. My friend’s son will be a senior this coming year at CU.
