So I'm currently a freshman and wanted to know where the best apartments are. I'm not looking for anything too fancy, but want it somewhat close to campus if possible. I don't wanna spend anything more than $700 or $800 a month tops. I know I should have started looking earlier, but I'm starting now. Any help? Thanks!

apartment searching usually starts at around this time so you’re not too late. you shouldn’t have a problem finding a place in that price range, but you’re not gonna be able to go for 309 green, t3, green street towers, etc. It all depends on where you want to live. if you want to live in the champaign side (near the frats) those are all around the 600-700 range. But that will be at least 3-4 blocks from the quad. if you’re an engineer, you’d probably want to go for the urbana side of apartments near university avenue, since thats closer to the engineering quad. and its relatively inexpensive to live there. however, i can’t stress this enough, but check out tenant union before leasing. they’ll have reviews and warnings that you’ll need to know about the different companies (cpm, roland, etc).
