Wondering what areas are the best to rent? Recommendations? Approximate rent range for a 1 bedroom or studio? Nearby cities or areas that may be more reasonable but within 15-20 minute drive to campus or within the campus bus routes?

Well they have downtown apartments check out Fred’s Historic Properties or http://www.fredshp.com/
These can get pricey and noisy, but nothing beats this location, especially if you like to party. In Athens, you can either get a place walking distance to downtown and campus or you get a place pretty far out. The Standard is a brand new apartment complex still being built. They have a 1 bedroom and even a pool on the roof. It’s walking distance to campus and right next to downtown, without being downtown. My friend lives in a 1 bedroom down North Avenue off of Spring Court. It isn’t the best looking on the outside, kind of like a motel, but is nice inside. http://www.archeronnorth.com/ It’s walking to downtown, but to campus might be a bit of a push. North Avenue isn’t the best area though, especially to walk alone. Farmer’s Exchange Lofts also have a 1 bedroom. These are super noisy though, but have a great location downtown, next to North Campus. http://www.mathismgt.com/ - The Lyons are 1 bedroom studio type apartments. These are located ON campus, between dining halls, dorms, up the street from the student center. About a 20 ish minute walk to downtown. Let me know if you have any other questions.
