Since i was denied from UCSB. I'm really wondering whether i can get into UCSB by switching to my major to a nonimpacted major. I would really want to get into UCSB ><

No, you can only appeal for the major you applied to. You’re not really asking for an appeal, you’re asking to be reevaluated and they won’t do that as it’s way too late in the process.

sorry to hear that you were rejected. did you find out why? anyway, definitely make an appeal. you have nothing to lose. i think ms. sun has info on writing appeals and mentions that they should be Positive in tone? that may seem obvious, but it is just a reminder! and no, i do not think switching majors is a good idea for an appeal, even if it is possible. anyway, good luck!

“We regret that we are not able to offer you admission at this time. Admission for Fall 2012 was very competitive and we were unable to accept many qualified applicants.” I applied for Econ/Acct when i was suppose to finish 2 classes of math. I’m thinking i should appeal my rejection and ask whether i could change my major to a nonimpacted one

as i said, i think it is a bad idea to change majors for your appeal. but you are free to do what you wish. ms. sun has lots of info about appeals, and i am certainly not an expert. good luck.

@northbeach hmmmmmm imma just see what other colleges i get into first, kk thx ^^

Its definitely worth a shot…I was denied to UOP, but when I spoke with an admissions counselor, they offered me admission under a different major…I still declined…though this may be due to UOP being a private school, but it your case it does seem very unlikely a UC would reevaluate your application under a different major…but it is worth a try…
