To whom it may concern,

I am writing to appeal my application dismissal from University of California, Riverside. First, I would like to thank you for taking further considerations to my application when I was wait listed. I am writing this appeal because I believe that I am extremely qualified for admission into the University of California, Riverside and would like to request for your reconsideration for this up coming school year.

Before I applied to University of California, Riverside , I knew that I need to maintain a stable grade point average while taking rigorous courses to prepare for college. I started taking HONORS when I was a sophomore and eventually took AP classes junior and senior year. I admit, I had some trouble with my grades during junior year when I first took AP classes resulting to a lower GPA. I knew that taking more than one AP class would be overwhelming when it comes to studying for exams and tests because it require a lot of time and dedication. However, I took that chance because I didn't want to fall behind or reject any opportunities that could help me reach my goals and aspirations. Of the four years in high school, I worked hard each day for my grades as well as taking care of my siblings when my parents were overwhelm with problems such as finances and health. Although it was difficult, I tried to take care of my own problems and worked diligently to make my parents proud.

Junior year for me was hardest time to overcome. At first, the school year started out smoothly for me and my siblings. However, after first quarter, my dad fell ill and started to have issue maintaining his heart rate. He later was admitted into the hospital and was transferred to Telemetry where he can be monitor until he recovered. At that moment, I decided to use more of my time staying home and assisting my mom to support the house. Of course, my mom would assure that there was no problem and that I should focus on my academic work. True, education is important for my future, but I felt responsible and made the choice to balance family and school, even if it meant struggling through sleepless nights finishing projects and typing essays. Even to this day, I will stand by to my decisions with no regrets. As the first to graduate high school in my family, I am proud that I had received three seals on diploma: the Golden State Seal Merit, the California Scholarships Federation seal, and the California State Seal of Bilitercy in which I worked persistently for the passed four years.

Even though my GPA is above UC's minimum requirement for admission, I know it could have been higher. I understand that the admitting process for incoming freshmen is quite competitive, however; I am extremely confident that I will focus on my work and studies as a student at University of California, Riverside. This university will benefit me greatly because I know UCR will provide me as well as other students many opportunities to go above and beyond ourselves. I am willing to fight for my goals and do whatever necessary to achieve it.

Please understand and reconsider my application to attend University of California, Riverside. I hope you give me a second chance. Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to read my letter.

Wrong subforum.

I don’t think you’ve shown or proven that your coming semesters Once you’re in college will result in higher grades. What is your plan, exactly?

So you were admitted and then they rescinded the admission? Or did you never get picked off the waitlist? if the former, Can you talk to your guidance counselor about this? Can they write a letter for you:? If the latter then you can’t appeal…what else could you do? Community COllege and then go to a 4 year school later? in any case talk to your guidance counselor.
