I was pretty sure I applied as undecided but my application was reviewed by business department and I got denied.
My ACT score is 29 and my GPA is 3.9
I've had many friends get into UIUC with lower scores.
I am going to appeal and really hope to get in.

Do people get into UIUC by appealing? Any valid cases ?
The appealing is the option that they had.

I have no other school to go to. UIUC is the only school. What should my appeal letter consist of? It is required to be less than 300 words.

Like many Flagships, UIUC considers GPA more than test scores (so that those from lesser K-12 schools can be admitted). It also considers race.

Is your GPA weighted? If so, what is the unweighted (after removing electives)?

How was the rigor of your coursework? Did you take the harder sciences? Any APs? What was the highest math you took?

Check to see what you selected for a major, if you did select one.

What were you planning on majoring?

It is odd that you were rejected since UIUC has a very high acceptance rate (I was surprised to see how high it is considering how highly ranked the school is…accepting 19,500 out of 28,800 applicants…a 68% acceptance rate.

Will your parents pay for you to go any school? If so, look into some of the privates that are still accepting apps. Are any of the other Ill publics still accepting apps???
