So… Unfortunately I was placed on the waitlist :-S
My appeal letter includes the reason why I strongly want to go to SC, because my english teacher who affected a lot during my high school years went to college at SC, that’s why I respect and admire this school a lot, and i also includes a letter of recommendation from that teacher.
I also mentioned how hard I worked my high school years just for going to my dream college, and i wrote about my family and eco situations: I live with my mom and step father, he is not willing to pay for my education. Therefore my mom paid everything for me, she got part-time jobs to support those expensive costs (summer schools, SAT/ACT courses…ect), and how I worked hard in order not to waste her efforts.
My original stats are
ACT 28
GPA 3.85 UW, I’m not sure for UC gpa, 3.9+ maybe…?
leaderships in clubs and sports team
100+ volunteering, had a work experience (math tutor)
some awards
I’m afraid of one thing now… that is my senior gpa goes down a little bit (3.74 for last semester)due to increasing ap classes i’m taking this year. I don’t know if it can affect my appeal :(( UCSC says something like “if your senior grades have already gone down, an appeal may not be appropriate” I’m so scared right now :((
Based on my info and the appeal i wrote, is there still a chance for me to get in UCSC from the appeal process…?
