No problem Pierre. The link you posted above for the Clemson factbook is now working. There is some really interesting stuff on there! It’s great to see how many kids from my son’s high school have gone to Clemson over the past few years. Plus, the SAT scores for each college. I think it will help us narrow down which major he has the best chance of being accepted into, plus one that he can stick with and succeed in.

Crazycarolina, no one understands what you’re saying at all. Use grammar… please.

I only get on this site … when I am on a stair climber while using my phone … bouncing all around trying to type on a small screen …do not have a ton of time … I am a physical therapist by day and personal trainer at night … do not have the time to sit at a computer… hint the name crazy carolina … I am sure somebody understood what I was trying to say …and maybe I was able to help in some kind of small measure …Good Luck To You… We live near the East Coast and we have our letter … and WE Are IN !!! yipeeeee… Thank You P for helping with the housing situation and Bridge Info… You are a great asset to this site … Keep up the good work… and good luck to Tiger mom… I will have better luck my next go around now that I am more informed

Congrats to you! When did you get your letter? Was it a big acceptance packet or a letter? It is so stressful. Thanks.

I’m a dad. And we’re still waiting on my daughters appeal to Clemson. Has anyone else received a answer on a appeal?? I expected to see it this week but still nothing. She was excepted to the bridge program. It has been my dream for her to go to Clemson.

My daughter did not win her appeal. We are OOS and her stats were very strong. She is upset. Fortunately, there was a really nice womn in admissions that made it somewhat better.

I’m sorry to hear about that. It gets tougher and tougher each year to get into Clemson. Good luck to your daughter wherever she ends up!

I know this is an older post but I’m looking for some insight to the bridge program and the appeals process. I think freshman year at the campus would be better for her then being at Highpointe for many reasons. If she appeals any thoughts as to whether it is better to do it sooner rather than later? Just wondering if sending it later would be better as spots may open or is earlier better as they know how serious she is. Also if she is not successfull in the appeals process would like to hear from anyone who has recently gone through the bridge program.

Has anyone heard anything from Clemson bridge appeal for 2013?

pierre0913: you mentioned on 3/10/12 “one thing that I’ve learned is that the South Carolina high school GPA scale is VERY different than those used around the country” Can you elaborate on how is the GPA scale different? I am from NJ and wonder how they would compare.

tweetygirl, here is the GPA scale that public schools in SC use (to my knowledge): [url=http://www4.gcsd.k12.sc.us/education/components/links/links.php?sectiondetailid=26404&]Guidance - South Carolina Uniform Grading Scale/url

The average GPA at Clemson is listed as a 4.18 - on the SC scale that would mean around an A average for CP classes, A- average for honors classes and B/B+ average for AP classes.

Pierre: Thank you so much for clearing up this grade issue. It now makes so much more sense now.

Pierre -

Trying to understand the difference in Fla. GPAs and SC GPAs. I’m not sure who has the advantage. Does the admissions office do anything to “equalize” the GPAs for fairness?

Does it matter if we will not need any financial aid and will be paying full out of state tuition in cash? If this does matter, how do we let the appeals committee know?
