Appealing, how do I know why I was rejected?

I saw posts in which people stated that the college/university told them what was lacking in their application. How can I figure this out for UT Austin? Who did you talk to?

Before he filed his appeal, my son called admissions and told the person he spoke with that he was filing his appeal and would like to first get information as to why he was waitlisted/offered PACE so that he could address any issues in his appeal. She told him there is no information she can see or give him as to why he was waitlisted.

There’s no formula to submitting information that gets you admitted. There’s no itemized list of things that they have that were missing that didn’t let them admit you, and even if there were, they certainly wouldn’t be telling you (admissions is a very, very private process - and confidentiality of it is paramount to fairness.) Essentially, just submit anything that could help them see you in an even more positive light than before, and hope for the best. Remember that appeals don’t change decisions often, so only expect as much change as the new information you provide changes their perception of you. Best of luck!
