Hello,

I was accepted to Clark with a 32k international scholarship. Turns out that it won't exactly be sufficient to finance my education and I have to take an expensive loan to bridge the gap. Is it possible for me to appeal for more aid at this time?

Yes, you can email them and explain your circumstances. Colleges are known to have increased aid amount after an appeal.

Also, did you receive a financial aid package at the same time as your acceptance letter?

I received two letters on my portal. One was the acceptance letter, and the other was a letter saying that I received a 32k international scholarship based on the data I provided in my CSS profile. Should I be waiting for something more ?

I don’t know, that’s my question. I got a letter saying I’ve received a global scholarship based on my CSS data but usually college’s send proper financial aid packages.

Oh, I see. I’m going to call them on Monday and find out what’s the situation like, especially after Clark changed to a need-aware policy this year. I’ll update this thread once I find out more.

The 2 letters that you received are merit aid, need based aid will be sent out later, because this is what happened to my sister last year.

I see. Thank you!

Does anyone have any idea when the whole aid package will be sent out?

On the official class of 2018 facebook it says that they hope to release them on the 21st.

I just received mine. Pretty good.

Is there anyway an appeal might work? My EFC is really low($2998) and I received $55,580 from Syracuse University and would have to pay $4,500 which is easily affordable but at Clark I would have to pay $10,000 and my parents simply can’t afford that since my father is the sole provider of the household. Clark is my first choice so is there any way that if I email them and show them how much I received from Syracuse, that they might modify my award package?
