Applicaiton (additional information)

i feel the upenn application is very limited. i have a lot more activities/extracurriculars that i want to mention and dont have room to. i also want to show them my 250 word essay i wrote about my favorite historical event when i thought it said word over char to add a bit of humor. isnt tehre a “additional information” area that i’m missing?

this is ssort of important to me

There isn't any additional information on the application itself; however, if you really want to supplement your application, you can always send in additional things (such as a list detailing your ec's or that additional essay you speak of). Though I have no authority to speak on behalf of the adcom, I wouldn't advise doing these things. There are six slots (I think) on the app for writing your ec's...they know that you probably do a lot more than six, but they want the ones for which you spend 3-5 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (or the like). Listing off 50 bajillion ec's in a supplemental list won't help you if it looks like you're speading yourself too thin. Additionally, regarding the essay: they get thousands of applications per year, meaning double that in essays that they have to read. I don't know, but adding an extra 250 word essay probably won't be significant enough to substantially impact your application (and if you get a grumpy or tired officer, it could even hurt you theoretically). Again, I have no authority on which I can say this, but I'm just voicing my opinion. You could always submit any extras that you want, but truth be told, it probably won't make that much of a difference (unless it's something REALLY REALLY big and interesting!)

i see what you mean

i included a 3 page supplement to my application to list my extra curriculars, scores, schedules, etc. in a more clean fashion

3-5 hrs/week, 40 weeks... thats a hell of a club. At least for my school.

i'm sending a 500-word essay that's improtant and not mentioned anywhere else (no such question).

exactly. most of my activities were 1-2 hrs. Only a sport required 6 hrs/wk.

wait. i'm doing it online though. how cna i send supplemental information?
