I submitted my application on november 26th. Before submitting it, I thoroughly edited and revised it, making several spelling corrections and eliminating a couple of sentences. I then submitted it, thinking that I had saved my corrections. Well, I saw a hard copy of my application today and apparently my corrections did NOT save. What should I do? I really stressed in my application that Princeton was my first choice, so how will it look to the admissions officer when I have several glaring spelling errors and a sentence or two that make me sound like a tool? Is there any way I can change it?

I'm sure if you emailed the admissions office and explained, they'd be happy to accept the revised version of your essay.

i did the same thing!!! i submitted the wrong edition of my essay, and it was terrible. i called the princeton admissions people and they said to send in a signed letter stating what happened and include to include my real, edited essay. make sure to put your FULL name, birthdate, and any other info that can be used to make sure it gets to your file.

after i had already done this, other people suggested to me that i could have withdrawn my appplication, and then started over from scratch. i'm not sure how i could have done this over the common app online though.

good luck!
