Application: Extracurriculars, Short Answers, and Resume

I am an out of state senior getting ready to send in my Pitt Application, and have a few questions. I see that the process for applying has changed over the last few years and want to be sure I have the most up to date information.

I believe I am a strong candidate for merit aid and want to make sure they have all of my information.
34 ACT composite
3.75 unweighted gpa
4.3 weighted gpa
extensive commitment to service
varsity athlete
rigorous curriculum (honors, AP, and dual enrollment courses)

How do you recommend sharing extracurriculars? Should this be done through short answers?

Is a resume helpful or discouraged?

Although recommendations are not required are they discouraged?

@hailtopitt1787

We recommend that you outline extracurricular activities in your responses to the Short Answer Questions, we have found that these responses are most helpful for the Admissions Committee. We do not encourage a resume or recommendations, if sent they will be added to your file, but the Committee finds that the Short Answer Responses are the best way to get to know applicants.

Best of luck!
A Pitt Admissions Staffer

Thank you!
